This tattoo represented freedom - a sailing ship. Family or lover left behind. It was wide-spread with both men and women.

Each T-shirt also has the "MIR"logo on the back. "MIR" is the Russian word for "peace", but in the criminal world it's an acronym that stands for "Menya Ispravit Rastrel" which translates roughly to "Execution will Reform Me".
