ABOUT THE DESIGN:
Straight from the alleyways and dark streets of Odessa comes this traditional Russian made "Telnyashka". Standard issued to Russian armed forces, it was made fashionable during the 40's and 50's by hoodlums, hooligans, Thieves, ex-cons and various other colorful characters and is still quite popular today with men and women in Russia.
This particular style is closer to a sleeveless shirt than a tank-top due to it's cut and the high neck-line. It is designed to accentuated the chest and shoulders.
On the back of the shirt is a German eagle MIR logo. Contrary to popular belief this eagle has been around long before the Nazis seized power and was probably stolen by them from Indian symbols, just like the swastika. This eagle is one of my favorite symbols and it stands for strength and freedom and anti-authority. Translated from Russian it means: "Strike first, Dont wait for them to hit you!"
MIR is a Russian word for "world". But its an acronym for "Menya Ispravit Rastrel" meaning "Execution will Reform Me".
